Against a backdrop of continued underperformance in housing delivery and growing industry concerns associated with viability pressures, this lunchtime seminar presented by James Robertson (Associate Director – Economics) provides insights into the factors driving the growing squeeze on viability and the growing tension between policy expectations and market realities. The session also provides an overview of key recent updates to national planning policy with respect to viability assessment and what they mean in practice.

James joined Lichfields in 2022 and has 9 years’ experience as an economist and applied policy researcher. James has a breadth of experience across a range of economic development services, delivered on behalf of private and public sector clients. This includes economic impact assessments, business case development, strategy development, viability assessment, cost-benefit analysis.
