Join us for a tour of The Water Gardens at the Hyde Park Estate
Discover how Refolo Landscape Architects, on behalf of the Church Commissioners for England, restored and reinterpreted the iconic 5,000 sqm Brutalist suspended deck garden, originally constructed in 1966 to designs by Phillip Hicks, above a car park void.
This is a rare opportunity to explore a hidden oasis in the heart of London, in Edgware Road, situated within a gated communal garden and surrounded by three residential towers designed by Trehearne & Norman, Preston & Partners.
Cristina Refolo, who conceived and led the design team from inception to completion, will explain how the redesign revitalised the long-forgotten 1960s self-sufficient tree SuDS system, as well as the inspiration behind the intricate paving, terrestrial and aquatic planting, striking new lighting and custom designed benches, all complementing the existing brutalist architecture whilst reinforcing through colour and rhythm the essential…
