About the event
Does nature have rights? This is the subject we'll be exploring with Mónica Feria-Tinta, acclaimed international environmental barrister, and author of A Barrister for the Earth: Ten Cases of Hope for Our Future.
Mónica is considered to be one of the preeminent experts in climate change and environmental litigation worldwide, acting in the seminal Rights of Nature case Los Cedros, a world precedent on an eco-centric approach to nature protection and a speaker addressing the topic of the “World Court and Climate Change” at COP26 in Glasgow.
Join us for an insight into Rights of Nature and to hear about how planning decisions may be impacted by this burgeoning area of law.
Mónica will be taking pre-submitted questions.
Hosted by the South West branch of Women in Planning, open to all.
