About the event
Join Women in Planning North East for a Bat Walk, hosted by ecologists Madeline Money (WSP) and Siobhan Bailey (Tetra Tech).
We’ll kick off around 7pm at the Central Bean Coffee House at Gallowgate with a short intro session on bats and planning; covering surveys, legislation, and how to design with bats in mind. Followed by a practical demo of bat detectors and thermal cameras (courtesy of Northumberland Bat Group). At around 8pm, we’ll head into the park for a one-hour guided walk to spot and identify bats in action. A great chance to learn something new, ask questions, and connect with others—whether you’re a bat beginner or just curious!
